David B. Lewis is a Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology. He holds the Naddisy Foundation Professorship in Pediatric Food Allergy, Immunology, and Asthma and directs the Jeffrey Modell Primary Immunodeficiency Center at Stanford. Key projects include: CRISPR Cas13d RNAse for viral RNA degradation T-cell developmental transcriptional programs in neonates SMARCAL1 gene function in telomere maintenance Novel vaccine adjuvant development Recent publications highlight CRISPR antiviral strategies against coronaviruses, iNKT cell maturation, and clinical transplantation approaches for SIOD patients. The lab collaborates with Stanley Qi's CRISPR group and Matthew Porteus' genome editing laboratory. Scientific recognition includes two Henry J. Kaiser Awards for Excellence in Preclinical Teaching. He leads multidisciplinary programs at Stanford's Maternal & Child Health Research Institute and Cancer Institute.
