Ping Wang is a Professor at York University in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science , Lassonde School of Engineering . She is an IEEE Fellow , York Research Chair , and Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society . Previously, she was an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Education: Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, 2008 MASc in Electrical and Information Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, 1997 B.E. in Electrical and Information Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, 1994 Research Interests: Her research spans wireless communications , Internet of Things (IoT) , machine learning , cloud computing , and smart grid energy management . She focuses on radio resource allocation, network design, performance analysis, and optimization for heterogeneous wireless networks. Future directions include ultra-low power IoT communications, resilient systems, and interdisciplinary integration with power grids and cloud systems. She actively supervises Master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral researchers. Current advisees include Hongda Wu, Farnaz Niknia, and Justin Gouge. She is open to recruiting new students and visiting scholars. Professional Roles: She serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials , Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE VTS Resource Centre, and on the editorial boards of multiple top journals. She has chaired and co-chaired numerous IEEE conferences and symposia.
