Paddington Hodza is an Instructional Professor at the School of Computing and WyGISC (Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center) at the University of Wyoming. He holds a Ph.D. in GIS, Virtual Reality, and Geovisualization from West Virginia University, and an M.Sc. in Land and GIS from the University of Zimbabwe. Prior to academia, he worked with the World Wide Fund for Nature and Environment and Remote Sensing Institute in Zimbabwe before moving to the U.S. in 2002. Professional highlights include directing the GIScience Certificate program at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (2007), certification as a GIS Professional (GISP), and FAA-licensed drone pilot. He serves on the UCGIS Board of Directors (2019–2022) and the University of Wyoming Faculty Senate. Research focuses on UAS integration, multi-modal GIS education, spatial data science, and immersive visualization. Awards include the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship and Leadership Wyoming alumni recognition.
