Dennis Shelden

Dennis Shelden is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Director of the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE). As a licensed architect, academic, and entrepreneur, his work bridges architecture, engineering, and computer science applications for the built environment.

Research Focus: Professional applications of generative and building information modeling to integrated physical/digital building systems, open standards for building design/construction, and industry transformation through digital technology.

Professional Leadership: Former Director of Computing at Gehry Partners (1997-2002), co-founder and CTO of Gehry Technologies (acquired by Trimble), and former positions at Arup and Cyra Systems. Currently co-directs technical programs for BuildingSmart International.
