Rachael Elizabeth Naoum is a part-time Adjunct Teaching Professor in the Mechanical & Materials Engineering department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Her full-time role is as a Product Definition Engineering Manager in SOLIDWORKS R&D at Dassault Systèmes, where she develops the software she teaches. She holds a BS (2018) and MS (2020) in Mechanical Engineering from WPI. Her research focuses on SOLIDWORKS applications, 3D printing innovations, and textiles engineering. Notable work includes a 2018 publication on prosthetic arm design using affordable rapid prototyping. She is a Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert (CSWE) and Trainer, and actively promotes STEM education through programs like the MassRobotics Jumpstart Fellowship for high school students. Rachael teaches ES 1310: Introduction to Computer-Aided Design at WPI, emphasizing design intent, orthographic thinking, and mechanical motion comprehension. Her dual role bridges academic instruction with industry software development, creating a unique feedback loop for educational tools.
