معرفی
Prof. OĞUZHAN YILMAZ is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gazi University's Faculty of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from The University of Nottingham (2006) and has extensive experience in additive manufacturing, non-traditional manufacturing methods, and advanced manufacturing processes. He leads the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Research Group (AMTRG) and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Gazi University Journal of Science (SCI-E indexed). His research focuses on additive manufacturing technologies such as WAAM, laser processing, and material characterization.
Education:
- Ph.D. (2006): University of Nottingham, School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering
- M.Sc. (1999): Gaziantep University, Mechanical Engineering
- B.Sc. (1997): Gaziantep University, Mechanical Engineering
Research Interests:
His work spans additive manufacturing (e.g., WAAM, electron beam melting), surface finishing techniques (laser polishing, electrochemical machining), and material characterization of alloys like Ti-6Al-4V and INCONEL. He explores thermal behavior, microstructural transformations, and mechanical properties in AM processes.
Recent Article Trends:
Recent publications emphasize thermal modeling in WAAM, surface integrity of additively manufactured parts, and post-processing techniques like laser shock processing. Key applications include aerospace and defense industries.
Grants & Roles:
- Executive of TÜBİTAK-funded projects on additive manufacturing for defense and aerospace.
- Co-chair of AMCTURKEY conferences (2019, 2021).
- Board member of Turkish Additive Manufacturing Association (TAMA).
Labs/Teams:
He oversees the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Research Group (AMTRG), focusing on R&D in additive manufacturing, material processing, and advanced manufacturing systems.
