معرفی
Burak Şahin is an Assistant Professor at Gaziantep University, affiliated with the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Gaziantep University (2019) and has previously served as a Research Assistant at the same institution (2012-2021).
Research Interests: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Applications, Surface Treatment Technologies (Flow Peening/GOV), Gear Design and Stress Analysis, Finite Element Modeling, Additive Manufacturing, Textile Material Testing. His work focuses on enhancing material performance through advanced surface treatments (e.g., Inconel 718, Ti-6Al-4V) and developing automated testing devices for carpets and gears. Key trends include: 1) Surface modification of aerospace alloys (2024-2023); 2) Automated carpet resilience testing systems (2021-2023); 3) Gear stress reduction via asymmetric design and FEA (2017-2018).
Students supervised include Murat Kalak (2022: Ti-6Al-4V flow peening) and Mustafa Sait Koca (2022: Inconel 718 flow peening).
Projects: 1) Development of special surface design methods for asymmetric spur gears (2014-2017); 2) Functional Carpet Static Loading Device (TUBITAK 1005, 2019-2021).
Patents: Co-inventor of TR 2016 05214 B for a multi-sample static loading carpet test device.
