Markus Donga

Prof. Dr. Markus Donga is a full-time Professor at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He joined the university in May 2010 after extensive industry experience in the packaging sector. Prior to academia, he served as Head of Development and Design and held executive authority as sole authorized signatory at a medium-sized packaging company.

He completed his Mechanical Engineering studies at Ruhr University Bochum, followed by two doctorates: one in Packaging Logistics from the University of Dortmund (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and another in Economics from the University of Dortmund (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration).

His research focuses on Machine Elements, CAD/Construction, Product Development, and Economical Small-Series Production. Specific innovations include applications of 3D-CAD in packaging design, reverse engineering methodologies, and finite element analysis for structural optimization in manufacturing.

Publications demonstrate sustained expertise in packaging logistics and computational engineering, with recurring themes of CAD integration, structural simulation (FEM), and technical-economic optimization in packaging systems from 1998-2008.
