Markus Stricker

Markus Stricker is an Assistant Professor in Materials Informatics and Data Science at the Interdisciplinary Center for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS) at Ruhr University Bochum. He received an ERC Starting Grant 2024 for his project on dislocation networks in metals.

• Educated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe
• Doctorate at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2017

His research focuses on understanding dislocations in metals using computational simulations, bridging materials science with data science and advanced modeling techniques. He previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at KIT and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) before joining Ruhr University Bochum in 2020.
