Juliane Braun is an Associate Professor of English and Director of Core Literature at Auburn University’s College of Liberal Arts. Her scholarly work focuses on early American studies, transnational literatures, environmental humanities, and theatre studies. She holds a Ph.D. from Julius Maximilians Universität Würzburg (Germany) and M.A. degrees from Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz (Germany) and Université de Bourgogne (France). Dr. Braun’s research emphasizes multilingual and transoceanic cultural exchanges, particularly in French Louisiana. Her award-winning book *Creole Drama: Theatre and Society in Antebellum New Orleans* (2019) examines the political and social impact of theatrical culture in antebellum Louisiana. Her current projects include a translated collection of French Louisiana plays and a book manuscript on transoceanic environmental narratives. She actively contributes to academic discourse through book reviews and interdisciplinary collaborations, emphasizing recovery projects that recenter marginalized voices in early American cultural history.
