Hélène Maisonnave is a Full Professor in Economics at Université du Havre, France, and Director of the EDEHN laboratory (EA 7263). She specializes in Development Economics, Climate Change impacts on vulnerable populations (particularly women), Sustainable Development Goals, and International Economics, including trade agreements and environmental policies. Her research employs computable general equilibrium (CGE) models to analyze policy impacts. Her work addresses global challenges such as the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly on women in South Africa and Bolivia, and the long-term implications of natural resource management and climate change. She has contributed to policy briefs for international think-tanks like UNU-WIDER and PEP, focusing on equitable fiscal reforms and poverty reduction strategies. Recent publications highlight her interdisciplinary approach, bridging macroeconomic analysis with micro-level social impacts. She collaborates internationally, notably with institutions in South Africa, Niger, and Mongolia. Her outreach includes public articles explaining complex economic issues, emphasizing gender equity and sustainable development.
