Kamran Shafique

Kamran Shafique is a Lecturer in Project Management at the School of Business, University of Southern Queensland. He holds a PhD in Management from The University of Queensland, alongside MBA and MScMgt degrees from COMSATS University, Islamabad, and a BA from Islamia University, Bahawalpur. His expertise spans Disaster and Emergency Management, Project Management, Stakeholder Engagement, and Strategic Planning.

Dr. Shafique’s research focuses on community engagement in post-disaster reconstruction, stakeholder salience frameworks, and sustainable development. He has developed novel methodologies to measure stakeholder variance and introduced a new typology for stakeholder analysis. His work emphasizes marginalized groups and indigenous communities’ roles in sustainable development, particularly in developing nations.

His research outputs explore ethical frameworks for sustainable development goals, stakeholder exploitation in developing countries, and post-natural disaster reconstruction challenges. He has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work addressing emic-etic perspectives in community participation and vulnerable stakeholder frameworks. His earlier studies include analysis of Pakistan’s textile industry, global financial crisis impacts, and women’s participation in SMEs.

Teaching responsibilities include advanced project management courses such as Project Risk Management (MGT8077) and Portfolio, Program, and Benefit Management (MGT8078). Professional memberships include Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), eMember of the American Management Association (AMA), and Associate Member of the International Society for Development & Sustainability (ISDS).
