Dr. Jamal Khan is a Research Fellow at the Institute of International Studies, Shandong University, and a non-resident Fellow at The Global Economic Policy Group (GEPG). His research focuses on quantifying intersectoral linkages, structural dynamics, and the interplay between international trade, regional development, and environmental policies. Key areas include Belt and Road Economics, climate policy design, energy economics, and the distributional impacts of environmental regulations such as the EU Border Carbon Adjustment (BCA).
Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Wuhan University (China), and M.Phil. and Master's degrees in Economics from Hazara University (Pakistan). He specializes in Multi-Regional Input-Output modeling and has contributed to joint research initiatives, including establishing a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) focused research center collaborating with Wuhan University and Pakistan's Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).
His professional memberships include the International Input-Output Association, Chinese Economist Society, and RUSE (Regional, Urban, and Spatial Economics in China). He has served as a referee for journals such as Resources Policy, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, and Macroeconomic Dynamics.
Teaching expertise spans Regional Economics, Input-Output Analysis, Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modeling, Advanced Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. His work emphasizes bridging theoretical frameworks with policy applications in global development and environmental sustainability.
