Steven McGuire is an Associate Professor of Business and Management at the University of Sussex Business School, serving as its Dean since 2015 and a member of the University Executive Group. Previously, he held roles as Director at Aberystwyth University’s School of Management and Business, a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, and taught at institutions like Audencia Nantes and Vlerick Business School. His research focuses on international political economy, corporate political activity, and technology policy, particularly in the context of international trade governance. McGuire has secured grants from the British Academy, EU Framework Programmes, and the Nuffield Foundation, and is a Fellow of the UK Trade Policy Observatory and Chartered Management and Business Educator (CMBE). His studies on emerging market SMEs and global value chains highlight institutional and technological determinants of competitiveness. Grants and Collaborations: He led projects like the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (ESRC-funded) and RESPECT (EU Horizon 2020), focusing on equitable trade policies and soft power in international cooperation.
