Dr. Ziko Konwar serves as Assistant Professor of International Business at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, where he currently holds the LUBS Research Lead position for the Cheney Fellowship Project (2024-2026). Previously, he was Departmental Director for Internationalisation (2021-2024) and Programme Director for MSc International Business@Leeds (2017-2022). His corporate background includes roles at IBM and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New Delhi.
His educational qualifications include a PhD in International Business from Bradford University, MSc in Management from Sheffield University, MA in Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and BA in Politics from the University of Delhi.
Dr. Konwar's research centers on internationalization to/from emerging markets and multinational enterprise global strategy through institutional/systemic lenses. His work critically examines federalism's impact on foreign investment location choices, stakeholder dynamics in corporate sustainability, and informal institutions like 'jaan-pehchaan' in Indian business contexts. His publications in top journals reveal consistent focus on institutional complexity in emerging economies, particularly India, and the interplay between political systems and multinational strategies.
His most recent publications demonstrate evolving trends toward environmental sustainability in international business, fake news implications, and nuanced analyses of federalist systems. The research consistently bridges institutional theory with practical multinational enterprise challenges in politically complex environments.

He currently supervises PhD candidate Zhuo Wang and has served as PhD Academic Support Tutor. His editorial roles include membership on the Journal of International Business Studies Editorial Review Board and regular reviewing for top international business journals.
Dr. Konwar contributes to the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL), leveraging this platform for collaborative research on emerging market strategies and institutional frameworks.
