Zhongjie Lin is the Benjamin Z. Lin Presidential Professor of City & Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania's Weitzman School of Design. He directs the Urban Design concentration and the Future Cities Initiative, while co-founding Futurepolis, an international planning and design consultancy. His expertise spans urban design, sustainable urbanization, emerging mobilities, and Asian architecture.

His publications include Kenzo Tange and the Metabolist Movement, Vertical Urbanism, and Rio de Janeiro: Urban Expansion and Environment, with upcoming titles on future cities and China's new town movement. These works emphasize sustainable infrastructure, cultural dialogues, and innovative spatial planning.
Awards include the Guggenheim Fellowship, Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, and Lincoln Institute Fellowship, alongside grants from the Graham Foundation. His academic leadership extends to curating exhibitions, leading symposia on urban regeneration, and advancing the Future Cities Initiative.
