Philip Yuan is an Associate Professor at the Architecture and Planning Institute of Tongji University, Shanghai, and Director of Archi-Union Architects. He is also a member of the Shanghai Urban & Planning Consultant Community. His work focuses on architectural design, urban planning, and digital fabrication, with projects such as 'Linear House,' 'Can Cube,' and 'Inverted Himalayas' gaining international recognition. He has received awards for innovative architectural education and design exploration.
- Education Architecture Award: 2nd Prize (Ministry of Education, China)
- Exploration Design Award: 3rd Prize (Ministry of Construction, China)
Research interests include low-tech digital fabrication, sustainable architectural practices, and the integration of technology in urban infrastructure. He co-organized the Digital Future conference and exhibition at Tongji University (2011) and has lectured internationally, including at MIT’s ACSA 100th Annual Meeting (2012).
