Zhibo Qiu is a Researcher at King’s College London, affiliated with the Lau China Institute within King’s Global Institutes and the School of Global Affairs under the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Her research focuses on Chinese multinational enterprises’ political strategies in global markets, business-government relations, and US-China relations, with recent work exploring political psychology in leadership analysis.
Dr. Qiu holds a D.Phil. in Management from the University of Oxford’s Said Business School, an M.Phil. in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a Master’s in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva). She also earned a double bachelor’s degree in International Politics from Peking University and Waseda University. Additional academic affiliations include George Washington University, Tsinghua University, and the University of Hong Kong.
Her research bridges academia and policy, addressing geopolitical implications of Chinese investments and national security challenges. Publications appear in Foreign Policy, The Diplomat, and China Brief, offering insights for policymakers and business leaders.
Professional experience includes roles at the British Embassy in Beijing, a government relations firm, and the United Nations Headquarters. She advises on policy trends and geopolitical risks, leveraging her interdisciplinary background in international politics, economics, and management.
