Shirley Yu is a Research Fellow affiliated with the Lau China Institute at King's College London, a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE), and an Asia Fellow at the Ash Center of Harvard Kennedy School. She has extensive experience as a former national TV broadcaster and global senior executive, with board membership roles.
Education: She holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from Peking University and a Master’s in Government from Harvard University.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on political economy, international relations, financial management, and global affairs, with a particular emphasis on Asian political and economic dynamics. She has authored books such as On China, by Ambassadors and Rise of the RMB and the Fall of the Yen, analyzing China’s geopolitical and financial influence.
