Zara Arshad is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Brighton and the Victoria and Albert Museum, co-founder of the studio Geofictions with media artist Yaloo, and a Governing Board Member of yáo collaborative. She holds a Bachelor's in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Master's in History of Design from the Royal College of Art. Her research focuses on 20th- and 21st-century material and visual culture, with a particular emphasis on Korean craft and design at the V&A (1980–2004), speculative histories, and design futures.

Her work explores how design objects mediate historical narratives and future possibilities. Recent projects include Geofictions, an artistic inquiry into contested geographies, and contributions to exhibitions and journals analyzing design's role in socio-political contexts. She actively participates in conferences on design history and archival practices in Asia.
