Yulia Nevskaya is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Rochester, an MA in Economics from the University of Colorado, and a BS in Management from Kostroma State Technological University. Prior to Queen's, she served as an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis's Olin Business School (2013–2023).
Her research focuses on consumer response to rewards and incentives, with special emphasis on gamification, habit formation (particularly in video games), and social interactions in both digital and physical contexts. Methodologically, she employs quantitative marketing and structural modeling techniques. Notable publications include studies on loyalty programs, online game usage dynamics, and strategies to manage excessive product consumption.
- Teaching: Courses include Text Mining (graduate), Digital Marketing (MBA/undergraduate), and doctoral seminars on structural modeling.
- Awards: Teradata Data Challenge Winner (2018), AMA-Sheth Doctoral Fellow (2010), and IREX Leadership Fellow (2001–2002).
