Yujie Hu is a Lecturer in Work, Employment Relations and HRM at the Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, since 2018. She teaches research methods, HRM, change management, and internal communications while serving as a personal tutor for HRM students and holding administrative roles including Programme Director for MA Human Resource Management.
Her educational qualifications include:
- PhD in Business Studies from Durham University
- MA in Human Resource Management (Distinction) from Durham University
Dr. Hu's research spans critical contemporary issues with emphasis on AI-driven workforce dynamics, work-life integration and mental wellbeing, and socioeconomic vulnerabilities like unemployment and poverty. She pioneers studies on digital skill development, sustainable business practices amid climate crisis, and intersectional workplace discrimination, while advancing longitudinal methodological frameworks. Her work significantly addresses international student challenges and rural livelihood systems among farmers.

As an active supervisor, Dr. Hu mentors undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in HRM and business disciplines. She currently supervises postgraduate researcher Huizhi Deng and contributes to the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change (CERIC), focusing on employment policy innovation and organizational transformation.
