Xanthe Whittaker is a Lecturer in Work and Employment Relations at the Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds. She is affiliated with the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change (CERIC). Her research focuses on digital transformations of work, people analytics, and gender/inequalities in the workplace. She holds a PhD from the University of Leicester and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research Interests: Dr. Whittaker’s work examines the societal and organizational impacts of technology on work, particularly in journalism and early childhood education. She also explores labor stratification, care work, and inclusive pedagogy. Her recent projects include studies on childcare during the pandemic and workforce dynamics in the NHS.
Teaching & Supervision: She teaches modules on strategic HRM, people analytics, and digitalization. Currently supervising four postgraduate researchers. Committed to inclusive education, she has worked with marginalized groups like refugee women and migrant sex workers.
Labs/Teams: Member of CERIC and the MSc Data Analytics and HRM program leadership. Active in British Sociological Association (BSA) and British Universities Industrial Relations Association (BUIRA).
