Dr. Qilin Hu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business, Strategy, and Innovation at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University. He serves as the Programme Lead for MSc Management. His expertise spans family business dynamics, including socioemotional wealth (SEW), emotions, resources, and innovation, alongside green HRM, SDGs, ESG strategies, and leadership. He holds a PhD from Durham University Business School, a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, and is a UK Higher Education Academy Fellow.
Dr. Hu’s research is published in top-tier journals such as the Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, and R&D Management. He actively contributes to academia through editorial roles, including membership on the editorial review board of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, and as a guest editor and ad-hoc reviewer for journals like International Journal of Human Resource Management and International Business Review.
His articles focus on ESG strategies in family firms, leadership impact on innovation, and the interplay between green HRM and SDGs. Recent work addresses paradoxical leadership, fear of SEW loss, and the role of Guanxi HRD practices in firm performance. He has received prestigious awards, including the British Academy/Leverhulme Fund (2023-2024) and recognition as an Early Career Researcher of the Year (2023).
