Yuanyuan Huo is a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Management at the University of Surrey's Surrey Business School, where she has been affiliated since 2016. She holds a PhD in Management from City University of Hong Kong, an MSc in Management from Zhejiang University, and a BA in Economics from Beijing International Studies University. Prior to joining Surrey, she taught at Hong Kong Baptist University.
Her research integrates leadership dynamics, organizational humor, and self-regulation mechanisms, with specific emphasis on:
- Leadership: Differentiated leadership in teams and leader-member relations.
- Proactivity & Emotional Regulation: Self-control strategies in service contexts and proactive employee behaviors.
- Organizational Humor: Dual impacts of positive/negative humor on workplace culture and employee outcomes.
Her publications (2011–2023) predominantly analyze employee behavior in service/hospitality sectors, leadership efficacy, and cross-cultural organizational dynamics, employing methodologies like multi-wave surveys, meta-analyses, and moderated mediation models. Recurring themes include emotional labor, leader-member exchange (LMX), and proactive performance.
She supervises doctoral candidates, including Ziheng Wu as principal supervisee, and contributes to academic service as an editorial board member for the Journal of Business Research. No awards or grants are documented.
