Dr. Yingang Du is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering and Course Leader at Anglia Ruskin University's School of Engineering and the Built Environment within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. With over 20 years of experience, he combines academic leadership with industry expertise as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and member of structural engineering institutions. His research focuses on structural integrity under severe conditions, including corrosion, fire, and seismic activity, with applications in civil and construction engineering.
Dr. Du holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK) and MEng from Xian University of Architecture and Technology (China). He has supervised numerous PhD/MSc projects on corrosion behavior modeling, structural durability, and seismic performance. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate programs in civil engineering and construction management.
- Research Grants: Institution of Structural Engineers (2007), Royal Academy of Engineering (2007)
- Professional Memberships: Institution of Structural Engineers, International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, RILEM
- Editorial Roles: Peer reviewer for ACI Structural Journal, Engineering Structures, and Construction & Building Materials
His work emphasizes practical solutions for infrastructure resilience, including finite element modeling of corrosion effects and fire engineering design for composite structures. Over 22 peer-reviewed publications and industry collaborations demonstrate his impact on advancing structural engineering practices.
