Prof. Klaus Pistol is a Professor for Building Materials and Head of the Building Materials Laboratory at FH Potsdam. He holds a Dr.-Ing. from TU Braunschweig and has extensive experience in fire engineering and materials research. Previously, he served as a research assistant at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) and conducted a research stay at the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) in Paris.
His research focuses on high-temperature behavior of concrete, fire spalling mechanisms, polypropylene fibers in fire-exposed materials, and geopolymer concretes. He has contributed to international standards (e.g., RILEM TC 256-SPF) and authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications.
