Yidan (Dani) Yin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Organization at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of California San Diego (2021) and a BS in Psychology from Zhejiang University (2013). Prior to joining Penn State, she was a postdoctoral researcher and Adjunct Professor at the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.
Her research focuses on understanding cognitive processes and strategies that help individuals navigate novelty and uncertainty in organizational contexts, particularly examining adaptation, decision-making, and interpersonal relationships. Key themes include:
- Cognitive framing and abstraction levels
- Power dynamics and their psychological effects
- Novelty bias and innovation adoption barriers
- Social judgment and attribution in organizational settings
Her work bridges organizational behavior, cognitive psychology, and social influence mechanisms, with applications to leadership, team dynamics, and change management.
