Cellist Yeesun Kim is a Professor at the New England Conservatory (NEC) in the Strings and Chamber Music departments. As a founding member of the Borromeo String Quartet, she has performed globally across 20+ countries in venues like Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall. Her career spans solo performances, chamber music collaborations, and teaching at institutions including NEC, Seoul National University, and Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts.
- Research Focus: Chamber music interpretation, cello pedagogy, and cross-disciplinary collaborations with dance/theater.
- Notable Performances: World premiere of Lera Auerbach’s String Quartet No. 7, complete Beethoven/Dvořák quartet cycles at Suntory Hall and Gardner Museum, and multimedia productions like Te Amo, Argentina with cellist Antonio Lysy.
