Yan Peng

Dr. Yan Peng is a distinguished Professor and surgical pathologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW), specializing in breast and gynecologic pathology. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. Dr. Peng co-founded the breast pathology specialized service at UTSW in 2009 and has served on the Cancer Committee of the NCI-designated Simmons Cancer Center since 2012. She led the Diagnostic Immunohistochemistry and Tumor Biomarker Image Analysis Laboratories for a decade. Her clinical expertise includes breast and gynecologic cancers, with involvement in NCI clinical trials and NIH-funded research targeting novel therapies. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and edited authoritative textbooks like Practical Breast Pathology. Dr. Peng holds editorial roles in journals such as Human Pathology and has held leadership positions in professional societies like the North Texas Society of Pathologists.
