wyatt keener is an instructor of english at cumberland university, part of the millard and jj oakley school of humanities, education and the arts. he transitioned from an adjunct role in 2018 to a full-time position in 2019. he holds a b.a. from union university and an m.a. from the university of tennessee, knoxville.
his teaching focuses on old english literature and first-year composition, along with courses in shakespeare and british literature. since 2022, he has been involved in the honors program. beyond teaching, he volunteers as a mentor with tnachieves, emphasizing student transition support in post-secondary education.
keener has prior teaching experience at the university of tennessee, pellissippi state community college, and volunteer state community college. he resides in wilson county with his family.
