Dr. Robert Cox serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Cumberland University within The Millard and JJ Oakley School of Humanities, Education and the Arts, teaching transformative learning, human relations, statistics, and research design in the Public Service Management program.

His research explores how learners experience worldview shifts through transformative education, supported by his role as a contributing editor for the Journal of Transformative Education. Dr. Cox delivered the keynote at the 2022 Transformative Learning Forum in São Paulo, Brazil.
He also works full-time in the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, leading analysis and process improvement initiatives in foster care systems. His publications focus on adult education theory and public service innovation, with articles in New Directions for Adult and Continuing Education (2023) and the Journal of Transformative Education (2022).
In Sumner County, Tennessee, he is active in his church community and pursues personal interests in reading and collecting encyclopedia sets.
