Wu Xiao is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Architecture, Southeast University, serving as Director of the Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC) and Secretary General of the UPSC Urban Regeneration Academic Committee. He also directs the Urban Design Branch of the Architectural Society of China and participates in Jiangsu provincial committees for urban regeneration and spatial strategy.
His research pioneers urban sociology and community construction with specialized focus on low-income population spatial dynamics and regenerative urban design. He has developed influential frameworks for revitalizing historic towns and addressing socio-spatial inequalities in Chinese urban contexts.

Professor Wu has mentored undergraduates to 22 national competition victories and supervised postgraduates to 1 provincial and 6 university-level excellent dissertations. His research program includes 6 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 3 National Key R&D initiatives, a World Bank project, and over 10 provincial grants. He has executed 50+ major engineering projects including the Enshi Historical Town revitalization and UIA-HYP Cup award-winning designs.
