William Day is an Associate Professor and Fellow in Law at Downing College, University of Cambridge. He teaches contract, tort, and commercial law at the Faculty of Law and practices as a barrister at 3 Verulam Buildings.

His research focuses on commercial law, particularly contract law, restitution, economic torts, and conflict of laws. Current projects include law of contract formation and privity, while longer-term work explores rescission, termination, and contract damages.
William’s publications span commercial law subjects, with articles cited in the Commercial Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court. His work appears in journals including the Cambridge Law Journal, Law Quarterly Review, and Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly.
