Dr. Wendy Timmons is a Senior Lecturer in Dance Science and Education at the University of Edinburgh’s Moray House School of Education and Sport. She holds roles in the Institute for Sport, Physical Education & Health Sciences (ISPEHS) and contributes to the Human Performance Science Research Group. Her work bridges dance practice, education, and health, with a focus on hypermobility in dancers, technology in dance pedagogy, and health through dance.
Education:
- BPhil (Hons) in Classical Ballet and Contextual Studies, University of Durham
- PhD, University of Edinburgh (Dancing with hypermobility: An exploration of the health risk and experience of generalized joint hypermobility within a classical ballet narrative)

- Health risks and biomechanics of hypermobility in classical ballet
- Technology-enhanced dance education (e.g., haptic feedback for visually impaired dancers)
- Dance and dementia, mental wellbeing, and physical literacy
