Dr Wen Hua Sharpe is a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), School of Business and Creative Industries. Prior to this role, she worked as a Lecturer at Federation University and held positions as a company auditor. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Deakin University, alongside multiple commerce-related degrees from Deakin and RMIT University.
Her research focuses on auditing, corporate governance, capital structure, and business strategy. Recent studies explore topics such as CEO regulatory focus impacts on CSR, ESG performance in supply chains, and post-pandemic decision-making of Chinese students. She teaches courses in auditing, financial accounting, and corporate reporting.
Dr Sharpe has secured research grants totaling over $15,000, including a 2021 cross-school grant examining Chinese student study choices and a 2020 project analyzing firm executive communications. She is a member of professional bodies including CPA Australia and the American Accounting Association.
Her advising and grants highlight strategic research directions: one grant investigated PESTLE factors influencing student decisions, while another explored executive communication strategies. Notable publications span journals like Accounting & Finance and Journal of Risk and Financial Management.
