Dr. Wasim Ahmed is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Hull's Hull University Business School. His research focuses on data-driven marketing, AI applications in business, health information sharing, and social media impacts on sports and politics. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BA from the University of Sheffield and has worked at several UK universities. Dr. Ahmed has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles, including impactful studies on health misinformation during the pandemic and social media's role in sports.
Education: PhD, MSc, BA (Hons) in Marketing from the University of Sheffield; Certificate in AI and Machine Learning (University of Oxford).
Research Interests: AI-driven marketing optimization, disinformation networks, social media ethics, and interdisciplinary studies in public health and sustainability. His work has been featured in journals like Journal of Medical Internet Research and European Journal of Operational Research.
Media & Outreach: Over 100 invited talks for organizations like WHO, BBC, and CERN. Media appearances include BBC World News, SABC, and Discovery+ documentaries. He advises on social media research for the Financial Conduct Authority.
