Warwick Gullett is a Professor at the School of Law, University of Wollongong. He previously served as Associate Dean (Research), Head of Postgraduate Studies, Deputy Director, and Acting Director of the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), and Dean of Law (2012–2016). His expertise lies in marine environmental law and international law of the sea, focusing on fisheries regulation, marine protected areas, and jurisdictional issues. He authored Fisheries Law in Australia and co-edited works like Marine Pollution Contingency Planning. His research has been cited by international and domestic courts, including the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and Australian environmental tribunals.
Prof Gullett has supervised 13 PhD students, contributing to topics like South China Sea maritime claims, transboundary environmental harm, and climate change legal frameworks. He serves as Current Legal Developments editor for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ocean Law and Policy, and previously edited the Australian Journal of Maritime and Ocean Affairs (2007–2010). His work bridges legal scholarship with practical marine governance challenges, emphasizing ecological sustainability and international cooperation.
