Warren S. Grimes is a Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School, specializing in antitrust law and competition policy. He holds the Irwin R. Buchalter Professorship (2000) and the Irving D. and Florence Rosenberg Professorship (2006). Previously, he served as Associate Dean for Research (2016–2019) and held governmental roles at the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and as Chief Counsel for the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Monopolies and Commercial Law. His research focuses on antitrust enforcement, international competition law, and regulatory policy.
He co-authored The Law of Antitrust: An Integrated Handbook, a definitive text in the field, and has published extensively on topics such as vertical restraints, digital markets, and consumer welfare. Grimes has lectured globally, including at Nihon University (Tokyo) and the College of Europe (Brussels), and serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Max Planck Institute in Munich. He chairs the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Antitrust Section and advises the American Antitrust Institute.
His career spans government, academia, and international law, with a focus on bridging theoretical antitrust principles with practical legal and policy applications.
