Vivian Pontes is a Lecturer in the Marketing Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School. With over 20 years of industry experience in Brazil and Australia, she has worked with commercial brands like RACQ, Bank of Brazil, and Petrobras, focusing on customer experience and market research. Her research explores emotions, sustainability, and morality's influence on consumer behavior, with publications in journals such as the European Journal of Marketing and Journal of Brand Management. She actively engages in collaborative projects, industry partnerships, and supervises Master’s/PhD students. Her teaching spans courses like Strategic Services Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Integrated Marketing Communications at UTS, Monash University, and the University of Queensland (UQ).
Education: PhD in Marketing from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Research Interests: Vivian’s work focuses on understanding how moral emotions and ethical considerations shape consumer decisions, particularly in sustainable consumption and service contexts. She investigates topics such as preferential treatment in services, brand extensions, and the impact of sponsorship in sports marketing. Her studies often employ experimental designs to explore consumer psychology in real-world scenarios.
Teaching & Supervision: She has taught at multiple institutions, including UTS, UQ, and Monash, covering strategic marketing, digital media, and international consumer behavior. She is available for supervision of postgraduate research in her areas of expertise.
Collaboration: She welcomes industry projects, media inquiries, and advisory roles aligned with her research in marketing ethics, consumer behavior, and sustainable practices.
