Max Planck Institute for the Science of Lightمعرفی
Vincent Artero serves as Research Director at the Laboratory of Chemistry and Biology of Metals (LCBM), a joint research unit of CEA, CNRS, and University Grenoble Alpes in France. He leads the SolHyCat group and has maintained continuous affiliation with CEA Grenoble since 2001 following his PhD completion at University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) and postdoctoral work at RWTH Aachen.
His academic credentials include:
- Training at École Normale Supérieure (Ulm)
- PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), 2000
Artero's research program centers on bioinspired chemistry and artificial photosynthesis, with particular emphasis on structural/functional hydrogenase modeling, engineered organometallic proteins, and nanomaterial design for sustainable energy conversion. His work bridges biocatalysis and materials science to develop systems for hydrogen photo/electro-production, hydrogen oxidation, and carbon dioxide reduction.
Prestigious recognitions include the Grand Prix Mergier-Bourdeix from the French Academy of Sciences (2011) and a European Research Council Consolidator Grant (2012).
He currently chairs the Scientific Advisory Board of the ARCANE Excellence Laboratory Network (LABEX) for bio-driven chemistry and co-chairs the French National Research Network (GDR) on solar fuels, demonstrating leadership in advancing renewable energy research infrastructure.
