Dr. Vinay Shukla is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He holds a PhD in Reproductive Biology from CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (India) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. His career spans institutions across India and the USA, with expertise in reproductive immunology, placental development, and embryo implantation.
- B.Sc. in Chemistry & Zoology from DDU Gorakhpur University (2010)
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology from DDU Gorakhpur University (2012)
- Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology from CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (2019)
- Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Kansas Medical Center (2024)
Dr. Shukla's research focuses on the molecular mechanisms governing placental development, maternal-fetal immune interactions, and embryo implantation. His work explores how environmental factors (e.g., TCDD), signaling pathways (WNT, β-catenin, NF-κB), and protein regulation (TPPP3) impact reproductive outcomes. Current projects examine cytomegalovirus interactions and maternal inflammation's role in placental disease.
His publications span journals like Human Reproduction, PNAS, and Biology of Reproduction, with recurring themes in WNT signaling, trophoblast differentiation, and decidualization. Dr. Shukla has served as a Review Editor and Guest Editor for multiple Frontiers journals and Cells, and has participated in symposium judging and abstract reviewing internationally.
