Viktor Pataki

Viktor Pataki is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Modern Hungarian Literature, Comparative Literature and Literary Theory within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. Having earned his PhD in 2019 from Eötvös Loránd University with a dissertation on memory representation in Imre Oravecz's works, he has established himself as a significant contributor to Hungarian literary studies.

His research focuses on lyric and memory theory, multi- and intermediality, and contemporary Hungarian literature. Pataki teaches courses including Introduction to Literary Studies, Literary Theory, Theories of Mediality, Cultural Studies, Lyric Theory, and Hermeneutics and Deconstruction. He actively participates in three research groups: the General Literary Studies Research Group, Contemporary Central European Novel Research Group, and Children's and Youth Literature Research Group.

His publication record demonstrates consistent scholarly output, with numerous books, edited volumes, and journal articles. Recent publications (2022-2024) show his continued engagement with memory theory, Hungarian literary figures (particularly Imre Oravecz), and interdisciplinary approaches connecting literature with medicine, sports, and cultural studies. His work often explores the intersections between memory, language, and identity in Hungarian literary contexts.

Pataki serves as an OTDK (National Scientific Student Conference) coordinator since 2019, demonstrating his commitment to academic mentorship. He is proficient in German (advanced), English (intermediate), and Dutch (intermediate), and is a member of ÁITK (Hungarian academic society).
