Victoria Wright

Dr Victoria Wright is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Aberystwyth University. She holds an MSc and PhD from Swansea University and a PGCE in adult learning. Her research focuses on psycholinguistics and cognitive neuroscience, particularly hemispheric processing in word recognition, bilingualism, and prosopagnosia.

Research interests include:

• Psycholinguistic mechanisms in bilingual speakers
• Neural basis of word recognition and reading
• Prosopagnosia and its implications for cognitive models
• Age of acquisition effects in second-language learning
• ERP and EEG studies on cerebral hemispheres
• Memory performance in Welsh-speakers

Her work is funded by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Aberystwyth University Research Fund, with collaborations across the UK and Germany. She supervises undergraduate cognitive psychology dissertations and coordinates core modules in quantitative methods and cognition. Award: SEPEX Paper of the Year 2011.
