Dr. Kyle Jones is a Lecturer in Psychology at Swansea University's School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. He specializes in dementia and cognitive psychology, focusing on mitigating cognitive decline and enhancing cognition through research on bilingualism and cognitive reserve. As Head of Welsh Provision in Psychology, he develops bilingual educational materials to support Welsh-speaking students. He also directs communications for the Swansea University Dementia Research Group.
Education: BSc Psychology (University of South Wales), MSc Cognitive Neuroscience & Research Methods (Swansea University), PhD Psychology (Swansea University).
Research interests include dementia mechanisms, behavioral interventions, and statistical methods. His 2025 study in Journal of Affective Disorders applied deep learning to predict depression in China's elderly. Recent grants include a £105k Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol grant (2019-2020) for bilingual education resources.
Teaches core modules on research methods and statistics in both English and Welsh, emphasizing ethical research practices and professional development.
