Victoria Vega serves as the Area Coordinator of Music Therapy and Professor at Loyola University New Orleans' College of Music and Media, Department of Music Therapy. With a doctorate from Temple University and a master's degree from Loyola, she is a pioneering academic being the third person nationally to earn a Ph.D. in music therapy.

Her research focuses on music therapy for neurologic disorders, professional burnout, and personality studies, informed by clinical work at New Orleans hospitals and rehabilitation centers. She has lectured extensively at regional/national conferences and universities.

- "National Presidential Award" (2006)
Dr. Vega held leadership roles as Music Therapy Program Coordinator (2000-2013) and Associate Dean of the College of Music and Fine Arts (2013-2017), while serving on national committees including the American Music Therapy Association's Executive Committee and Education and Training Advisory Board.
