Victoria Foster is a Visiting Professor of Community-Engaged Scholarship at the University of Central Florida and holds multiple leadership roles at Edge Hill University, including Director of the Centre for Social Responsibility (CSR) and Co-lead of SustainNET. Her work focuses on social justice, environmental concerns, and arts-based methodologies informed by feminist epistemology. She has led large-scale research projects such as the Trans-Atlantic Platform initiative (2022-2025) and the AHRC-funded ‘Active and Creative Communities Arts Development’ project. Her research often involves collaborations with local governments and social enterprises like Burscough Community Farm.
Key awards include an ESRC CASE award and an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her publications explore topics ranging from surrealism in community contexts to methodological innovations in arts education. She has contributed to interdisciplinary fields including qualitative sociology, healthcare data systems, and opera-based educational projects. Victoria’s work emphasizes participatory research and has involved partnerships across the UK, Canada, Poland, and the U.S.
Recent activities include co-organizing Citizen’s UK Fringe Events (2025) and leading projects like ‘The Feminist Imaginary’ (2022). Her research units include the Centre for Human Animal Studies and the Participative and Action Research Network at Edge Hill University.
