Victoria Jamieson is a Senior Lecturer in Early Years Education, focusing on critical pedagogies and relational ethics. She chairs the University Education Research Ethics Committee (EREC) and contributes to the Research Ethics Committee, promoting ethical research practices. Her research emphasizes social justice, ecological crises, and transformative education.
Education:
- PhD in Philosophy of Education (Edge Hill University, 2018–2022)
- PGCert in Higher Education (2021)
- MSc Psychology (Liverpool Hope University, 2017–2018)
- Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education with QTS (2017)
Research Focus: Victoria’s work addresses ethical and ecological challenges through philosophy in education. She explores how education can foster social justice by challenging dominant discourses. Recent projects include environmental activism, relational ethics, and community-based philosophical inquiry.
Awards: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2021).
Advising & Grants: She supervises PhD projects on social justice and ethics. Her doctoral thesis, Exposure, Attention, and Transformation, investigated alternative paths toward social justice through philosophical inquiry.
Engagement: Editorial Board Member of Ethics and Education, member of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB), and the International Network of Philosophers of Education (INPE). Her work contributes to the Social Justice Research Network and Narrative Research Network.
