Professor Vicky Crittenden is a distinguished academic at Babson College, holding the title of Professor of Marketing and the Peter M. Black Endowed Faculty Scholar. She is affiliated with the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business and has held visiting roles at institutions worldwide, including KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the University of South Alabama. Her academic journey includes a DBA from Harvard Business School, an MBA from the University of Arkansas, and a BA from Lyon College.
Her research focuses on digital disruption, women entrepreneurship, marketing education, and strategy. She has authored/co-authored four books, including Direct Selling: A Global and Social Business Model and Go-to-Market Strategies for Women Entrepreneurs. Her work has been published in top-tier journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and Journal of Marketing Education.
Crittenden’s accolades include the 2021 AMS/CUTCO Vector Distinguished Marketing Educator Award and the 2021 AMA Higher Ed SIG Lifetime Achievement Award. She has served as President of the Academy of Marketing Science and on editorial boards of numerous journals. Her leadership extends to roles such as Chair of Babson’s Marketing Division and Chair of Boston College’s MBA core faculty.
Her research emphasizes empowering women entrepreneurs, leveraging direct selling models, and integrating technology into marketing education. She has presented globally on topics ranging from gig economy dynamics to marketing ethics. A champion of innovation in pedagogy, she advocates for adaptive curricula in the face of digital disruption.
