Dr. Vicky Breemen is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's School of Law, affiliated with the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law and Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law. She holds a cum laude PhD in Information Law from the University of Amsterdam. Her research explores interdisciplinary intersections of copyright law, cultural heritage, technology (especially AI and digitization), and human rights.

Research Focus:
Breemen's work examines legal frameworks for cultural preservation in digital environments, copyright exceptions for libraries, regulation of AI in cultural contexts, and human rights dimensions of artistic expression. Her current projects include bias analysis in digitized heritage collections at the National Library of the Netherlands (2024-2025 residency).
